It was formed by the 2008 merger of Sirius Satellite Radio and XM Satellite Radio, merging them into SiriusXM Radio. The U.S. Federal Communications Commission (FCC) approved the merger of XM Satellite Radio and Sirius Satellite Radio, Inc. on July 29, 2008, 17 months after the companies first proposed it. The merger created a company with 18.5 million subscribers, and the deal was valued at US$3.3 billion, not including debt.  The Downy Ball is sold by Procter & Gamble specifically designed for use with traditional agitator-based top-loading washing machines which lack built-in fabric softener dispensers, and it won't work correctly on front-loading machines. Liquid fabric softener is poured into the Downy Ball through a hole on the top side. The ball is then tossed into the washing machine with the clothes and detergent, where it floats in a vertical position, with an internal rubber weight floating inside and trapping the softener inside. In the spin cycle, between the wash and rinse cycles, the internal rubber weight moves aside due to Newton's first law of motion, allowing the fabric softener to spill out onto the clothes, just in time for the rinse cycle.

Nutella Commercial 2001

Pietro Ferrero owned a bakery in Alba, an Italian town known for the production of hazelnuts. In 1946, he sold the initial 300-kilogram (660 lb) batch of Pasta Gianduja, derived from Gianduja. Originally sold as a solid block, Ferrero started to sell a creamy version in 1951 as Supercrema gianduja.

In 1963, Ferrero's son Michele Ferrero revamped Supercrema gianduja with the intention of marketing it throughout Europe. Its composition was modified, and it was renamed "Nutella". The first jar of Nutella left the factory in Alba on April 20, 1964. The product was an instant success and remains widely popular.

In 2012, French senator Yves Daudigny proposed a tax increase on palm oil from €100 to €400 per tonne. At 20 percent, palm oil is one of Nutella's main ingredients, and the tax was dubbed "the Nutella tax" in the media.

On 14 May 2014, Poste italiane issued a 50th anniversary Nutella commemorative stamp. The 70 Euro cent stamp was designed by Istituto Poligrafico e Zecca dello Stato and features a jar of Nutella on a golden background. Ferrero held a Nutella Day on 17 and 18 May to celebrate the anniversary.

Ontario Liberal Party Commercial Early 2000s

The Ontario Liberal Party  is a political party in the province of Ontario, Canada.

The party espouses the principles of liberalism, and generally sits at the centre to centre-left of the political spectrum, with their rival the Progressive Conservative Party positioned to the right and the New Democratic Party (who at times aligned itself with the Liberals during minority governments), positioned to their left.

The party has strong informal ties to the Liberal Party of Canada, but the two parties are organizationally independent and have separate, though overlapping, memberships. The provincial and federal parties were organizationally the same party until Ontario members of the party voted to split in 1976.

The Liberals lost official party status in the 2018 Ontario provincial election having fallen to only 7 seats, the worst defeat of a governing party in Ontario history. Prior to the 2018 election, the party had won every election since the beginning of the 21st century and had governed the province for the previous 15 years. In the 2022 provincial election, the Liberals saw a modest increase in support, finishing second in popular vote, but only winning 8 seats.

Southway Inn 2002

From a news article in 2015

"...For nearly six decades, the Southway Hotel, at Bank St. and Hunt Club Rd. in south Ottawa, has been a “home away from home” for northerners heading to the capital to shop, relax, get well, play hockey, golf or to just spend a night on their way somewhere else.

And so it was with disappointment that many Nunavummiut discovered this week that the Southway, Ottawa’s first official “airport hotel” will close at the end of the year and be transformed into a retirement home.

“Honestly the best staff I have ever experienced in the hospitality industry. If they don’t have it, they get it. If there is something they don’t know, they will find out,” wrote Christal Byrne, who works for the Nunavut Housing Corp. in Iqaluit, in an email to Nunatsiaq News.

“It makes us all very sad to know that this summer will be our last stay there. They were so dedicated to accommodating every weird request us northerners had (and there were some pretty weird requests at times.)”

Deenah Kelly and her husband Rick say they’ve been staying at the Southway two or three times a year for the past decade whenever they come to Ottawa from Iqaluit, including for extended medical stays.

Kelly said staff came and replaced the shower head to a hand-held one once to make it easier for Rick to shower in bandages.

“Always treated northerners with respect and appreciated our problems, like having to bring four or five Tupperware containers back to the hotel for that early flight in the morning back home,” Kelly wrote in a Facebook message to Nunatsiaq News. “Always made accommodations to put stuff in the fridge or freezer for you....."

Freedom Writers Movie Commercial 2007

Freedom Writers is a 2007 American drama film written and directed by Richard LaGravenese and starring Hilary Swank, Scott Glenn, Imelda Staunton, Patrick Dempsey and Mario.

It is based on the 1999 book The Freedom Writers Diary by teacher Erin Gruwell and students who compiled the book out of real diary entries about their lives that they wrote in their English class at Woodrow Wilson Classical High School in Long Beach, California. The movie is also based on the DC program called City at Peace. The title of the movie and book is a play on the term "Freedom Riders", referring to the multiracial civil rights activists who tested the U.S. Supreme Court decision ordering the desegregation of interstate buses in 1961.

The idea for the film came from journalist Tracey Durning, who made a documentary about Erin Gruwell for the ABC News program Primetime Live. Durning served as co-executive producer of the film. The film was dedicated to the memory of Armand Jones, who was killed after filming Freedom Writers. He was fatally shot at age 18 in Anaheim, California after a confrontation with a man who robbed Jones of a necklace in a Denny's restaurant.

Wintario - Full Broadcast from Langton Ontario July 1986

Wintario was Ontario's first provincial lottery, introduced in 1975 by the Ontario Lottery Corporation (OLC). It was a weekly lottery that became quite popular, not just for the prizes but also for its televised draws, which featured hosts such as Faye Dance and Fred Davis. Wintario was unique because it wasn't just a lottery; it also played a role in funding public projects across Ontario. A portion of the proceeds from ticket sales went towards funding arts, sports, recreation, and cultural projects in communities throughout the province. The lottery ran until 1996 when it was discontinued, as other forms of lotteries and gaming became more prominent in Ontario. However, Wintario is remembered fondly by many Ontarians, both for its community impact and its role in the early days of provincial lotteries. #1980s #wintario #ontario #langton #lottery
