CBMT is the CBC Television station serving Montreal, Quebec, and has been broadcasting since January 10, 1954. Originally broadcasting on VHF channel 6, the station now operates digitally as CBMT-DT on physical channel 21 while continuing to be identified as channel 6. As part of the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation, CBMT provides CBC's national programming along with local Montreal news, public affairs, and other regional programming.
