Road to Perdition Commercial 2002

"Road to Perdition" is a critically acclaimed film directed by Sam Mendes, released in 2002. The movie is an adaptation of the graphic novel of the same name by Max Allan Collins and Richard Piers Rayner. Set in 1931 during the Great Depression, it delves into themes of revenge, betrayal, and the bonds between fathers and sons.

Plot

The story centers on Michael Sullivan (played by Tom Hanks), a hitman for an Irish mob family in the Midwest led by John Rooney (played by Paul Newman). Sullivan is a devoted family man as well as a loyal enforcer for Rooney, who serves as a surrogate father figure to him. The narrative takes a dark turn when Sullivan's son, Michael Jr. (played by Tyler Hoechlin), witnesses a mob killing committed by Sullivan and Rooney's actual son, Connor (played by Daniel Craig), setting off a chain of events.

After Connor murders Sullivan's wife and youngest son in an attempt to eliminate witnesses, Sullivan and Michael Jr. go on the run, seeking vengeance against those who wronged them while also trying to protect Michael Jr. The journey is both physical, taking them to various cities, and metaphorical, representing a path to redemption and deeper understanding between father and son.
